How has media language been used to create meaning in the Lego Moviead campaign?
In the Lego movie trailer, the use of camera/sound/editing/mis on scene is used to create meaning. The fast pace editing parallels the hectic mood of the ad of the CPR Hands On ad (voiced by Vinnie Jones ). The use of fast paced editing helps the audience feel what the characters feelings and parallel the quickness of the movements when giving CPR to someone so that the audience know the severity of the movements. The use of the non diegetic contrupuntal music of 'Staying Alive' challenged the mood of the 'seriousness' in the ad as the music breaks up the severity of the situation.
In the lego poster of Emmet the use of the close up shows to the audience the idealism of the character of how he is a main aspect to the film. The use of showing the sky in the poster portrays that Emmet is a good character as, unlike Lord Business, the whole poster is taken up by his character. The facial of expression in the poster challenged the 'hero' stereotype Emmet is portrayed as, as he looks scared which challenges the normal 'brave hero' stereotype.
In the Lego Movie trailer of Premier Inn, the stop motion editing challenges the mood of sleep throughout the advert as the editing is quick unlike sleep which is calm and still.However, the slow cut editing parallels all the sleepy and slow message of the ad which highlights the calm and relaxing mood the ad is trying to set.
